WEAP trainings (Water Evaluation and Planning)

SEI is pleased to announce that will be holding WEAP trainings this autumn on three continents.

All trainings will be in English and led by SEI staff members.

This is a bilingual seminar on Monitoring the decentralised delivery of WASH services in rural areas and small towns in West Africa in Ouagagoudou, Burkina Faso organised by IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre and pS-Eau.

Designed in priority for stakeholders working in collaboration with local governments, this seminar will be an opportunity to share experiences in the field of monitoring WASH services at local level in West Africa.

For 2014, the Global Water Summit returns to Paris, France - Europe’s long-established centre of trade and culture. The theme is growth and will focus on water's key role in economic recovery and its development as we move towards 2050.
 
We'll see what we can learn from Asia, where India and China have experienced phenomenal growth in recent years and we'll take a special look at the oil and gas industry and the opportunities for energy and water reuse. We'll study the crucial role of water in every part of life, for our communities and for our businesses.

Workshop: Earth Observations and the Water Energy Food Nexus

Dear Colleague,

The European Space Agency, the Global Water Systems Project and the Food and Agricultural Organization invite you to a workshop on Earth observations and their contribution to the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus. The workshop will take place from 25-27 March 2014 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. It is aimed at reviewing and synthesizing the current state of Earth observation applications to WEF issues and the information needs of data users from across a range of sectors.

The Water Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and collaborators will host the Nexus 2014: Water, Food, Climate and Energy Conference on March 3-7, 2014 to examine the thoughts and actions related to a nexus approach. The co-Directors of the conference will be Jamie Bartram, Director of The Water Institute, and Felix Dodds, Associate Fellow at the Tellus Institute, with support from an International Advisory Committee.

Latin American Workshop on Law of International Waters


Organized by the Global Water Partnership (GWP) Central and South America, the Latin American Water Education and Training Network (LA-WETNet), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and universities from Chile, Colombia and Peru, the workshop aims to train professionals from environment and foreign ministries, members of parliament, and national water management institutions in themes linked to transboundary waters.
