Training course on Water Supply

The objective of this course is to present the challenge of water supply for human consumption. Elements of water quality and water quantity will be addressed. This will be followed by basic strategies for providing access to, and distribution of, safe water supply.

EC JRC Project: International Workshop "Exchange of Experiences in Water Resources Management between Europe-China-Africa-Latin America"

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission together with DEVCO's support are organising an International Workshop on "Exchange of experiences in water resources management between Europe/China/Africa/Latin America".

This event is organised in the framework of the European Commission (EC) support project to the Africa Union/NEPAD Networks of Water Centres of Excellence implemented by the JRC.

DWA training- Project Cost Appraisal – Economic Efficiency in Planning and Operating of Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal Systems

 

The participants get familiar with economic efficiency in designing water utilities and their components, in rationalizing operation and maintenance and in rehabilitating systems. Transparent and reliable cost comparison calculations. Starting with the systematic of infrastructure project appraisal methods in practical use and their pros and cons, the main focus is on dynamic cost comparison calculation. By applying this tool least cost solutions can be selected that are most suitable in water supply and wastewater disposal whenever mandatory targets have to be met.

DWA-Setting-up and Developing of Water Associations training

 

This training gives a broad overview of relevant management practice and operational knowhow. The worldwide setup and the various types of associations.

The training will be conducted in the offices of the European Water Association (EWA) and the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) with participation of the International Water Association (IWA) in order, additionally, to ensure practice and to learn from the experiences of these international, regional and national associations.
