Mon quartier a été submergé par les eaux” : à Kinshasa, la galère après les inondations

Des pluies diluviennes se sont abattues ces derniers jours sur Kinshasa, la capitale de la République démocratique du Congo (RDC) où les réseaux d’assainissement sont bouchés par les déchets plastiques. Conséquence : à chaque saison pluvieuse, la troisième mégapole d’Afrique se retrouve sous les eaux. 

 

Position Paper on WEFE Nexus and SDGs

Current EU development policy provides a general frame and background that justifies a Nexus approach and methodology. Thus, the new European Consensus on Development: “Our World, our Dignity, our Future” (June 2017) emphasises an integrated approach to development and strongly supports the 2030 Agenda with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that were adopted in September 2015 as a global framework for sustainable development action. The 2030 Agenda itself emphasises an integrated approach that can facilitate a Nexus methodology.

Commemoration of World Water Day and launch of UN World Water Development Report

Commemorating World Water Day, a pivot event will be hosted on 19 March 2019 at the Palais des Nations, home of the United Nations Office at Geneva. During the event, the United Nations World Water Development Report 2019 will be launched and the winner of the Stockholm Water Prize announced.

Launched by NEPAD on 1st Februray, the Call for Expression of Interest for Universities and Research Institutions in Water Sciences to constitute and become members of the AU/NEPAD Central and Eastern African Network of Water Centres of Excellence (AU/NEPAD CEANWATCE), is expected to receive Application until next 28th February 2017.
