Projet Mékrou, un projet de développement pour l'intégration et la coopération transfrontalière

Ce film capitalise les principaux résultats issus de la mise en oeuvre du projet "Eau pour la croissance et la lutte contre la pauvreté dans le bassin transfrontalier de la Mékrou" (Bénin-Burkina Faso et Niger) financé par la Commission de l'Union Européenne et mis en oeuvre par GWP-AO et le CCR de Janvier 2014 à décembre 2017.

Iuellemeden aquifer system - Mali, Niger, Nigeria. Volume III: Hydrogeological model

Document published in 2011 by OSS (Sahel and Sahara Observatory), focused on the design and implementation of a hydrogeological model of the Iullemeden Aquifer System. The aquifer, extending through Mali, Niger and Nigeria, is one of the two outmost important groundwater systems in the Niger basin, with groundwater flowing mainly from north to the south. Quite interestingly, the aquifer extends up to the Mekrou W park, Niger and Rima (in Nigeria) rivers acting as the regional drainage references.

Call for Expression of Interest for the AU/NEPAD Central and Eastern African Network of Water Centres of Excellence (CEANWATCE).

Launched by NEPAD on 1st Februray, the Call for Expression of Interest for Universities and Research Institutions in Water Sciences to constitute and become members of the AU/NEPAD Central and Eastern African Network of Water Centres of Excellence (AU/NEPAD CEANWATCE), is expected to receive Application until next 28th February 2017.

In embarking upon the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with a dedicated goal on water and sanitation, credible data is needed to underpin sector advocacy, stimulate political commitment, inform decision making and trigger well-placed investment towards optimum health, environment and economic gains.
