The School seeks an individual committed to quality teaching, research and community engagement in Hydrology. The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of academic staff in Hydrological Sciences, and is expected to lead Hydrology by providing vision, academic leadership and excellence. Responsibilities will include curriculum development and teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, further development of a dynamic hydrological research programme at the postgraduate level with strong links to government and industry, attracting research funding, contributing to community engagement activities and performing academic administrative duties.
The incumbent will report to the Dean and Head of School.
 
Minimum requirements:
 
Professor
 
 A PhD in a recognized area of Hydrology
 An international reputation for outstanding research as evidenced by current publications in ISI or DoHET accredited journals
 Evidence of academic and/or industrial leadership in the field
 A record of successful supervision of postgraduate research students up to PhD or a research group in a relevant institute
 Experience in teaching at a tertiary institution
 A proven capacity to attract competitive research funding
 
Associate Professor
 A PhD in a recognized area of Hydrology
 A current research record as evidenced by publications in ISI or DoHET accredited journals
 A record of successful supervision of postgraduate research students up to PhD or a research group in a relevant institute
 A demonstrable ability to teach at a tertiary institution
 
Senior Lecturer
 A PhD in a recognised area of Hydrology
 A current and sustained research publication record in peer-reviewed ISI/DoHET accredited journals appropriate for this level
 A demonstrable ability to teach at a tertiary institution
 Successful supervision of postgraduate students in MSC and/or PhD
