The Africa Groundwater Network (AGW-Net) successfully held a regional course on “Groundwater Management within IWRM in the Basin River context” in Bamako, Mali in September this year. With support from Cap-Net and the Regional Coordination of Niger Basin Water Users (CRU-BN), a second round of the course will now take place in Cotonou, Benin from the 9th to 13th December. It will also be in French, as it is specifically aimed at river basin users and professionals in Francophone countries (West and Central Africa). The workshop aims to promote sustainable groundwater resources management within the framework of IWRM; raise awareness of the importance of groundwater resources in Africa and the need for improved management; and provide basic understanding of GW processes and their interaction in river basin context. Applications are now open. Brochure and Application Form in French are available.
