This workshop is the first of a series of three workshops to be held in 2013 in Western Africa tentatively:

Through its global network of Centres of Excellence in Water Science and Technology, this JRC event (funded by DG EUROPEAID) aimed at exchanging and disseminating good practises in water resources management among experts from Africa (African Union/NEPAD Networks of Water Centres of Excellence), Latin America (RALCEA), China (EU-China plateform) and Europe (JRC and other European experts).

Check out Tessa Livingstone's disturbing new video on the crisis of water supply. Why, after $360 million of investment do nearly a billion people still lack healthy water? Why do the wells, pumps and pipes, installed lovingly by donors across the world, fail time and time again? And who now has the courage to put it right?
